Workshop FAQs

Online workshops provide students the opportunity to learn in the comfort of their homes, at whatever time of day fits the student’s schedule.

When you purchase an online workshop, you gain access to a private area of the simplify 101 website. This area includes the private workshop forum and photo gallery, as well as all lesson materials. Lesson materials are delivered in a variety of formats: lesson material can be read and listened to while online and connected to the internet, or you can download a PDF and audio file to read and listen to while offline. The online classroom’s private forum permits direct communication with your instructor and fellow classmates. Plus, each workshop includes a photo gallery for sharing “before and after” photos, sharing victories, and brainstorming ideas with your classmates and instructor.

When you purchase your first workshop, you’ll need to create a new account in our workshop system. This will establish your workshop log-in info—your workshop username and password. (This is a separate log-in from our shopping cart, so even if you’ve purchased from us before, you’ll create a separate log-in name and password. You can use the same log-in name and password as you use in your shopping cart, but you must register twice—once in the “shop” area of the website, and once in the “workshops” area of the website.)

Every workshop has “open” and “close” dates. These dates will always be noted on the sign-up page for each workshop. During this period, you can log in to the workshop system and access your workshop materials.

Each workshop also has a registration open and close date. This is the enrollment period for a particular workshop during which you can sign up for a particular workshop session.

Lesson material is “released” on a scheduled basis—usually one lesson per week. Once a lesson is released, you’ll have access to it until the workshop closes.

All our materials are provided in a variety of formats—PDF downloads, online web pages, and MP3 audio files, so you can learn in the way that is most productive and comfortable for you!

Workshops include an online photo gallery and forum so you can share photos of your organizing projects if you like (your classmates and I would certainly like!), and interact with your instructor and fellow students. When you join a simplify 101 online workshop, you join a supportive and inspiring community that will motivate you to take action and create change in your home and life.

Yes! Each of our online workshops includes a private message board, also known as the forum. This is the ideal place to ask questions directly of your instructor, and to get insights and ideas from your classmates. The simplify 101 community is super friendly and everyone is committed to a common cause—making their lives better!

If you’re not one to post in a forum, you can still learn a great deal by reading your classmates’ questions and comments. The workshops also include a private message system, allowing you to ask questions of your instructor directly (and exclusively).

Most definitely! Online organizing workshops have several advantages over other methods of getting organized. For one, the information is delivered in bite-sized pieces, and each lesson includes specific action steps. As soon as you follow any of the action steps, you’ll be on your way to a more organized home and life! Additionally, you have help and support along the way—your instructor and classmates are there to offer ideas, guidance, and answers if you have questions, stall, or get stuck.

You have access to all the lesson materials for the period between the workshop open and close dates. Lessons are typically released once each week. Any lesson which has already been released is available to you for the duration of the workshop, up until the workshop close date.

Most workshops open a week early and many include a pre-workshop assignment. This gives you time to learn your way around the workshop system and say hello to your fellow classmates—people who are interested in what you’re interested in, and can offer suggestions, tips, guidance, and camaraderie throughout the workshop. Also, most workshops include an additional week at the end, once all lessons are released, to give you time to catch up and to download and save all the lesson materials before the workshop closes. A PDF archive of the entire workshop forum will be provided to you after the workshop closes.

First of all, have fun on your vacation! When you return, you can access any lesson materials and forum topics you missed while you were gone, or you can download and take along with you any lesson materials that were released prior to your departure. Once a lesson is released to students, it is available until the workshop closes. Most workshops contain at least one additional week to “catch up” after all lessons have been released.

Also, if you’re able to go online while you’re away, you’ll be able to access lesson materials and keep up with the forum. Our workshop system is accessible anywhere there is internet access.

Unless otherwise noted in the workshop description, as soon as you purchase a spot in a workshop, you will receive an email containing your workshop activation code, along with simple instructions for creating an account in our workshop system. Even if you’re already registered with a password and username in our shopping cart system, workshops require a separate registration.

To set up your workshop account, you will enter your activation code via email and immediately gain access to the online learning environment. Within minutes of placing your order, the entire workshop system, including access to a quick orientation, is at your beck and call.
