A teleclass is an interactive class that takes place over the telephone between a group of students and an instructor. You may also know this as a teleconference or teleseminar.
As part of the simplify 101 organizing workshops, one of two types of teleclasses may be included. With an instructional teleclass, workshop content and lesson materials are presented over the phone via the live teleclass. With a Q&A teleclass, the live call consists of a question and answer session between the instructor and teleclass participants.
How does it all work?
The first step is to sign up for a workshop that interests you.
Then, approximately two days before your class starts, we'll email you instructions on how to download reference materials and / or handouts for the class. The email will also include a telephone number and access code to enter class. The telephone number will be a long-distance number and therefore long-distance charges will apply according to your long-distance carrier. There will be no other charges. If you're using a cost effective carrier like ECG (who we use and love) your hour-long call should cost under $3.
Teleclasses will start promptly at the time noted in the teleclass description. We encourage you to join the discussion approximately 5-10 minutes prior to the start to get situated and introduce yourself (if you like).
Your instructor will provide a brief introduction and then the teleclass will begin. Throughout the call, we will do our best to keep the phone line open for questions — giving you the opportunity to interact directly with the instructor and get your questions answered. In the case of excess noise on the line, the call will be muted except for the instructor and / or the student asking a question.
All teleclasses will be recorded and provided, in mp3 format, approximately one day after each teleclass session. You will receive an email letting you know how to download these recordings. These downloads provide an excellent reference source if you'd like to revisit the material or if you're unable to attend the live call.
