Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a terrific weekend. Around here it was busy but good. There was a lot of fitting things in between basketball games…but I did pretty well on my lists. Here’s my check in.
Play List
- Boot camp. Check. It was a tough one this week. And once again, I have discovered even more muscles I didn’t realize I had. Fun! 🙂
- Basketball tournament. Check! Four games this weekend. Two were very emotional and we didn’t come up on the right side of the score board. But heart breaking losses are what makes victory so sweet. (Looking forward to the next victory…)
To Finish
- Call to make eye doctor’s appointments. Check. Jay did this.
- Send a photo to a friend. Check. It is addressed and ready to go out to the mailbox today.
- Plant some seeds. No check. We’ve decided to scratch this one from the list altogether this year. We’re joining a CSA and need to figure out what else we want to grow in our own garden. I think we’ll just buy plants after the last frost and after we decide what we want to grow ourselves.
- Plan meals for the week / make grocery list. Check.
- Clean house. Check, and I even got started on some spring cleaning.
- Finish laundry. Check.
- Spring forward! Check…I’m feeling this today, too. 😉
- Work on spring cleaning checklist. Check! Will share more on this in an upcoming post.
How did you do this weekend? Remember, if you didn’t get everything done consider how you can move a project forward today. What one step could you take today on a project to move it forward even just a little bit so it’s that much easier to finish next weekend or during the week this week?
Thanks for joining me for Finish It Friday this week! See you back here next weekend for another round.

It felt good to get some spring cleaning projects started. I fine doing just a few things in a room at a time that I get a lot more accomplished than trying to do an entire room at a time. Looking forward to your spring cleaning checklist.
Have a great day! Dottie
Didn’t really make a list of things to do other than a few. Here is my weekend
Sat:
Gym
Ross – Look for Photo Albums to hold all of family picts I inherited as well as fit on book shelf
Recycle place – drop off goodies
DMV – Registration (by far they were eager to get customers through this Sat)
Library – Return Books
Sams Club – Grocery shop and return top that is now too big =-)
Swapped pictures from previous album I bought that wont fit on shelf to new album. Much better! Still have a ton more picts to do but I am on right track and this album is far better.
Sun:
Laundry – only got 1 load
Wash inhertited china – Got a lot done
Get more recycling ready – Yep 7 boxes
worked in yard a bit to get some vitamin D as it was a beautiful weekend.
Decided to return 2 bras that are now too big (good thing)
Found top that I meant to return 2 years ago to Nordstroms that I got as a gift and was too big then. (glad they have a great return policy!!)
Busy weekend made me tired!! I even went to bed early Sat night and woke up early Sunday and am exhausted today!! Spring forward is hard and somewhat of a mental thing as I did get the appropriate sleep.
Still Left:
Hubby to take recycling to recycling center (our curbside service is horrible here) But I gotta be green.
Load car with aluminum cans for hubby to take to other recycle place (get some moola =-))
Finish up laundry – Busy doing other stuff forgot to make time for this.
Forgot to bring 2 bras and top to return today at Nordstroms during lunch break. Will have to put in car tonight and return tomorrow. Excited as I will get about $175 back!!!
This should be enough to keep me busy as I do have to work as well. Now for the reward. What do I get for all of my hard work besides a cleaner house?
Finish:
Vacuum house – DONE
Dusting – DONE
Clean bathrooms – DPNE
Meal plan for week + grocery shop DONE

I’m thinking I should have put Scrapbooking on my To Do list instead of play since that is all I got done!!! 16 12×12 pages and a few 8×8 for my cat album. I also got my cupcakes and went to the scrapbook store and some others.
I was really tired yesterday and slept most of it so nothing got done.

Hi there to everyone! It’s actually my first time to visit this blog. It surprised me as to how people create and post their to do lists here. It’s good to know a lot of you in here are actually very good in organizing things. I guess it would be better if you’ll also be giving tips on simplifying one’s life, organizing, etc. I’m sure it will be a great help for the many others who live a cluttered life. Thanks!
Abby, This may be a little off subject, but it relates to effective parenting. Rather than just cleaning out the closets and sorting out the trash, I’m wondering about cleaning out emotional closets every night. I’m doing a doctoral dissertation on effective parenting, and wondering about the value of parents closing each day by having the kid share their “highs and lows” before drifting off to sleep. Any sleep research out there on the value of reflecting on the day out loud in a safe, trusted environment? Does attitude and emotional affirmation just prior to drifting off do anything to sleep? Does it help with problem solving? To healthy brain development? I have a hunch there would be benefits, but I’d like to know more neurologically about how emotional security might shape a young developing mind.
