I hope you had a great weekend with lots of finishing—and fun! Here’s the place to report what you finished this weekend. Here’s my check-in.
Finish It Friday To-Do List
1. Move out of the master bathroom. FINISHED! This project took a whole lot longer than I had anticipated…but the girls are all set up in the guest bathroom, and the boys are all set up in the downstairs bathroom. Now, let the demo begin!
2. Shop for bathroom stuff. This one is moving forward to this week. We figured out our options for bathtub fixtures…which is a huge step forward. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to remove the tub fixture without creating another huge project. So armed with this info, I can shop online this week and select faucets, a shower-head, and other fun stuff. Plus, we can make a quick run to Lowe’s for lighting, mud and tape, and to the paint store for primer and ceiling paint.
3. Finish laundry! I finished by Saturday…which meant by Sunday I wasn’t caught up anymore! So, I threw in two more loads on Sunday, and everything is now dry, and folded again. Hooray! This one feels good.
4. Finish washing light fixtures. Finished!
5. Finish knitting scarf. This one wasn’t on my original list, but since I finished I thought I’d share. I’m so happy that it’s knitting season again for me, because I had forgotten how much I enjoy knitting…it’s just so relaxing. This weekend, I finished my first project for the year. Hooray! (Here she is…before she was finished.)
Weekend Play List
We also accomplished both items on our weekend play list—going to the Farmer’s Market and the Life Is Good Festival in St. Charles, Missouri. I loved having these “just for fun items” on my weekend list, and doing them was even better.
How did you do on your lists this weekend? Thanks again for playing along! I hope you found it is motivating and fun as I did. 🙂
Do share your pattern for your scarf! It looks so simple, yet cozy. I always found knitting/crocheting to be a type of therapy, but I have a very hard time finding the time with kids, new puppy, soccer, laundry, raking leaves – you know 🙂
Finish It List:
1. Hang up shelf above desk (leftover from last week). Still no check. Boo.
2. Finish prepping for baby shower (it’s Sunday)CHECK and CHECK! Finished the prep work and the shower went off without a hitch!
3. Start clearing out closet under stairs. CHECK! I sorted through a lot of junk and you can see small patches of floor!
4. Drop off recycling. CHECK!
Play List:
1. Spend time with my hubby and make our favorite cinnamon rolls. CHECK!
2. Meet our friend Amanda for dinner. Kinda CHECK. Amanda had to cancel so we met with other friends instead. That still counts though, right?
Ok, here is my list:
1. Purge papers in home office – Haven’t touched it, see below.
2. Put rods in closets – check
3. Grocery shopping – check
4. Finish of paperwork and post – check.
Play list:
1. Bathhouse with daughter- check
2. Iceskating with daughter – nope, she refused! To be honest maybe it shouldn’t be on the playlist since I have to coax her every Sunday to go. But she is the one and only in her class who can’t skate very well and she really want to learn but don’t want to practice. So it will be on the playlist even for her when she finally get’s better at it!
So, why didn’t I get to my home office? I found THE STORAGE ROOM!!! And after clearing out about 3-4 large moving boxes and one pram from there, about 2 boxes of clothes from my closet AND – with a joint effort with my husband – managing to get the daughter to accept a clear out of her room including boxing of “like” items in nice white boxes I was completely worn out and couldn’t face the home office. May I add I cooked 2 1/2 gallons of apple sauce and hubby and I changed the cars tires?
I don’t think I have had this kind of productive – and fun! – weekend for months. I will sure come back to finish it of Friday, it gave me inspiration!
This was so fun and motivating! Here is my list:
1. Finish laundry including hand washables. CHECK!
2. Clean stove. Not even close, next weekends project.
3. Air pillows on laundry line. CHECK! I used a light lavender spray on them and they smell lovely.
4. Assemble my new vacuum cleaner. CHECK! My husband came in after I put it together and said “WOW honey, you did that all by yourself?” I know, I had to give him a little slug in the arm for that one!
Playlist:
1. Go to card making party on Saturday. CHECK! That was so fun and I now have a new hobby.
2. Go to pumpkin patch and for a hike. CHECK and CHECK! The pumpkin patch was so fun, it was all decorated with scary music playing, great fun for us all. Our little hike ended up being 10k! We went up Mount Washington and hiked to a lake for a late lunch and came home to a delicious beef stew in the crock pot!
To do list:
1. Buy a gift and make a card for my brother’s birthday – done.
2. Cut out and stain the timber backing for a plaque I am making – done, although it took longer than expected. Strangely, the hardware stores have stopped selling 1/2 inch thick pine! And I had to re-sand and re-apply the stain after it brought out lots of marks in the timber. However, I did go out and get an inscription for the plaque engraved on a metal plate, which wasn’t on my original list.
3. Edit a pile of newspaper and magazine clippings – mostly done, only a few “maybes” left to consider and file away.
4. Sew hanger loops onto my formal dresses – held over until next weekend.
Play list:
1. Spend time with my boyfriend – done, and he helped me with items 1 and 2 on my to do list. 🙂
2. Make earrings for my mum – didn’t have time this weekend, maybe during the week.
Hi, Lisa,
I will do that…I’ll blog about the scarf soon. 🙂

Not bad but I think I was a bit ambitious considering playdates, birthday parties and a family member being sick! Can’t wait for this Friday now!
By the way, I bought an ITSO bin and set up the paper handling station in the kitchen and it has been SO helpful! Thanks!
Nice job, Catherine! And glad you’re enjoying the ITSO bin. 🙂
