Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend filled with lots of fun and done. For me, the fun won out over the done…but I’m okay with that. Here’s how things turned out…
Play List
- Boot camp. Check! (Thank goodness I did this on Thursday!)
- Wedding shower. Check! This ended up taking up a good portion of my Saturday, but it was fun and turned out very nice.
- True Scrap. Check! This was so much fun.
- Take some photos. Check!
To Finish
- Finish spring clean-out in my daughter’s room. Nope, but we did spring clean the cars and the dog. It was gorgeous here this weekend…so we looked for things that needed doing outside.
- Start + finish laundry. Almost a check! I’ve got a lingering load to finish up today.
- Plan weekly meals + make grocery list. Check!
- Clean. Check!
- Make more decisions about summer camps. Nope. Will work on this some more this week.
So…I didn’t get it all done, but it was fun and we do have clean clothes to wear, food to eat, and the house is in pretty good shape. So all in all, it was a good weekend. 🙂 How did your weekend go?
Finish:
1. Laundry. Check!
2. Clean house. Check!
3. Finish decluttering. Mostly check. I got all of the areas on my list decluttered but I noticed some other areas that could use some tweaking. It will be on the next list too.
4. Finish desk chair? Nope because I didn’t get the supplies in time.
5. Make progress on Spring Cleaning List. Check! I got 3 items accomplished!
Fun:
1. Have lunch with an out-of-town friend. Check and it was so nice!
2. Make sushi at home. No check. Had dinner out with my mom instead.
3. Spend some time relaxing with my family. Check and, as a bonus, I had some time to relax outside by myself with a slice of my favorite cake!
I’m really looking forward to next weekend because it will be our one year wedding anniversary! Did you know time flies? That list will be all fun!!
lol–I could swear I posted on Finish-It Friday, but maybe I didn’t click Submit? So I don’t remember what my list was, which brings up an obvious flaw in my strategy: if you don’t write down your goals, you are unlikely to complete them all!
I think I got most of the laundry and cleaning done that I would have put on my list, and I’m finishing the last bits this morning.
Got the crystal snowflakes down from the foyer ceiling, and replaced the fake snow under our front hall ficus with fresh new Spanish moss, so it’s spring again when you enter our house, instead of winter.
Did not get any work done on my FR curtains. That project is hanging over my head in a big way!

For some reason, I’ve been a day behind for the last couple of weeks. Despite being off schedule, I got quite a bit accomplished this weekend.
PLAY:
*Walk out at the lake CHECK X2 (8 1/2 miles)
*Make appointment to look at new house CHECK Loved it so much that it led to a whole new group of to-do’s. Sadly, it will probably be off the market by the time we’re ready, but we’re now seriously preparing to move in the next couple of years.
TO FINISH:
*Master bedroom closet (I’m so close!)CHECK!
*Make summer schedule, fill applications for programs CHECK! June is going to be pure craziness
*Clean daughter’s room CHECK! Our minimum standard of cleanliness for the teen is… can’t smell bad, must be able to walk through her room if I need to, can’t have anything out that’s inappropriate for younger kids if they were to get in her room. She’s been remiss on all accounts for several weeks now. I mentioned last week that I was done arguing and if it wasn’t taken care of by Sat I’d be doing it. Sat rolled along and I hit the room with garbage sacks and boxes. She was left with a bed, side table and lamp and 2 empty bookcases. Oh, and a beautifully steam cleaned carpet. It smells fabulous! There was drama, but my point was definitely made. She took it upon herself to clean her closet when I told her I planned on doing that next weekend. Plus she’s already earned back some stuff when she was able to show me that she had a place to keep it that wasn’t the floor. I think her initial upset has been replaced by the relief of having a clean slate!
*Laundry CHECK1 (Including the 5 loads we pulled out of the teens room)
*Budget! 1/2 Check. This needs more work
*BONUS CHECK: Planned meals and grocery shopped for the coming week
Wishing you a great week!
Nice job with your weekend to do lists ladies! See you back here on Friday. 🙂
