Woohoo! Hope your Friday has gotten off to a great start!
So the giveaway this week is mini…but it’s BIG!
(Are you confused?)
Well, let me clear it up. Simple Scrapbooks just put out a brand new special issue on mini albums, and boy is this BIG news! Why’s that? Well, I don’t know about you, but time is always something I wish I could bottle up and get a bit more of, especially when it comes to scrapbooking. So if I can find a solution that allows me to get a lot done in a little bit of time…well, let’s just say that is BIG in my book. And the folks at Simple have done it with this fabulous, special issue called “Mini Albums in an evening!” That’s right…in just one evening you can complete one of 58 scrapbook projects. How great is that?
One of my favorite projects is a Year in Review album by Melanie Louette. How brilliant is this: she incorporated the bookmark from Real Simple into her layout, and used it as the page title and a journaling block.
Yes, pure brilliance. But brilliance aside, I’m in love with the idea of capturing a year’s worth of memories in just one evening! (And having even more justification for my library worth of Real Simple back issues…well that doesn’t hurt either.)
So, I have to tell you I love mini albums, and I actually make more mini albums than “regular” pages. I love the sense of completion that comes from finishing a mini album, and I love to give mini albums as gifts.
So, how about you? Do you love mini albums? Do you want in on this great giveaway? To enter, just leave me a comment telling me why you think mini is BIG. I’ll keep the comments open until Sunday evening, August 3rd, at 8 PM Central. Then, check back on Monday when I’ll announce two lucky winners of this super special issue (and the cute “mini is BIG” buttons, too!)
Good luck…and keep in mind, if you don’t win, this special issue, loaded with cool projects like the one below, can be yours for just $6.99. Now that’s BIG!
Have a great weekend!
I LOVE mini-albums! Like you, I get these done on a much more frequent basis – I can’t recall the last time I actually did a regular layout…
I love that you can capture an event, a snippet of life, a period of time, or an entire year in just a couple of pages. It’s freeing and quite productive.
I was actually starting on a summer mini-album for Grace today. 🙂 How fitting.

Oh! I love mini-albums. There’s so much gratification from getting a project finished in a day or a weekend. I’ve probably made more minis as gifts than kept for us, but I love to keep ours in a basket in the family room where you can just reach for them anytime you want to.
I love mini album to give to grandparent. I just made a summer one for my mom of all her grandkids for her birthday. She will love it, they are simple to do and I get to be creative. What’s not to love?
I LOVE mini albums!!! Mini is BIG. First of all I love them because they are quicker projects but mini albums are GREAT for my grandchildren! I love to make mini albums of the special times they have spent with grammie! It is something that can be hands on for them and is an invaluable memory maker of the fun times when they come to visit!
Thank you for doing this! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win this!!!
Hugs,
Marcia
I don’t have much time, as a mother of five and homeschooler, so I need something to help keep me moving forward with scrapbooking. This magazine would be great for me! Marty
Aby, I love mini books so much I already HAVE that issue, but I couldn’t resist chiming in. I have a ton of mini book ideas on my blog, including tutorials for many of them. The thing I like best is that you actually show off your mini books more than big albums. If you’d like a quick tip on printing photos just right to place in mini books, check out this post:

Thanks for all your little and BIG ideas!
I do more minis too. I love that I can put together a whole mini about a trip or event in just an evening or 2. I just love seeing the bowls and baskets filled with minis all around my home.
I love mini albums as gifts. The grandparents don’t need much in the way of material items as gives, but they love, love, love the pics. Especially when they come in show-off form.
I’ve never made a mini album, but because I’m new to scrapbooking, I’m sure that actually completing a mini album would be just the motivation to get me moving on the bigger projects!
I have several “piles” of things for mini scrapbooks just haven’t made the time. This sounds like the inspiration to get them done. Thanks.
I LOVE mini albums! They are cute and quicker than a regular album and just so much fun! I would love to have some inspiration to make more of them and this would help!
I’m already in love with minibooks, and really love your point about how much of a time-saving idea minibooks are!
Fun! 🙂
I love mini albums, I just always have a hard time starting a mini project for some reason. My brain is in BIG mode…that is why I would love this book! I love looking through mini albums and showcasing a small event or person individually. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love how easy and fun they are, and how they are a time-saver… sometimes!
Mini albums are the greatest gifts! That’s why I make them. I’m always up for new ideas, too. Thanks for letting us know about this!
I love mini albums because not only are they *cute* and relatively faster for me to do (not to mention I spend less moolah) but they are perfect for my daughter to take with her when she visits her dad so she’s got pictures of the family and doesn’t forget me while she’s gone 🙂
I think mini-albums are the VERY best way to scrapbook. For the last three years I have done a family mini album as a year in review type of thing and it always makes me feel like I’ve accomplished so much!! It’s really the only scrapbooking that I actually get around to finishing these days. I would really love to get some more ideas for this year’s. Thanks!
I love mini albums too because they give me a chance to be a little more creative than usual. In my traditional scrapbooks and layouts I tend to be more simple and not-very adventurous (usually I am just trying to “catch up!”) so the mini albums are the places where I paint, sew, staple, just plain go scrapping crazy! I’m such a maniac!
mini albums make me 😉 b/c …
mini work= mega productivity, creativity & fun
