Hope you had a great weekend! How did you do with your Finish It Friday list? I look forward to hearing…just give your update in the comments section.
Okay, here’s my update:
- Laundry and house cleaning — finished! Woohoo.
- List one item on Craig’s list (drum roll please) — finished!
- I also finished up one additional item on my “to-finish” list. Hooray!
The best part of all was that my original to-finish list was done on Saturday. This meant Sunday was sort of a do-whatever-you-want kind of day. I liked it.
Hope you had a great weekend and have a happy Monday!
My goal was to get our tax return finished so that we could start on the FAFSA for our daughter. Dh and I did get that accomplished. We haven’t pressed the SEND button on either one, but all that’s left is double-checking, so I feel pretty good about it.
Another accomplishment that I had not planned on: I finally got started on filing my backlog of papers, which was my last task from the Paper Clutter class that I just couldn’t figure out how to tackle. I guess Necessity was the mother of invention, as they say. We needed to find some paperwork that we thought might be buried in the pile, so we began digging. Two hours later, all of the papers were sorted into categories, and half got filed away. Since I’m snowed in this morning, I may just dive in and finish that part of the job!
All Done by Saturday! Yay! 🙂
1 – My usual – menu plan, especially important this week since I’ll be away a few days. I think my husband would appreciate this. 🙂 DONE (through March too!)
2 – Finish 2 sewing projects DONE
3 – Declutter for 1 hour in basement DONE
4 – Take anything collected while doing #3 to the Salvation Army. DONE
I’m trying to finish some knitting and sewing “UFO’s” (unfinished objects)– this weekend I finished knitting socks for my husband, just in time for Valentines’ Day.
We sorted books together, then took 2 very big boxes to Powells’ warehouse. They bought 3/4 of them, and gave us a check for $112. A nice hour’s work, I’d say!
I finished my quilt top! So excited to have made so much progress!
*sigh* Fail . . .
The invitations I ordered were snowed in at the suppliers so they have just been sent today. So, my main focus for the three day weekend never happened. That seemed to sabotage all my other plans as well.
Next weekend. . .
I did finish cleaning the desk as I had planned, and finished the biggest part of the invitation stuff. But there’s a little bit more to do … my goal is to finish it before NEXT Finish-it Friday though!
I have been reading your articles and organizing tips for the last two weeks and they have made a great impact on my plans for the next few months. We are planning to move later this year, and my goal is to let go of everything we don’t need, use or love before we pack – so we won’t have to carry around boxes with stuff that most likely won’t find a place in our new space anyway. I still feel a bit overwhelmed when thinking of some aspects of decluttering (esp. where to draw the line when it comes down to memorabilia) but just taking it step by step – and actually setting the decluttering as my first goal instead of the “big” one of creating a space I love – has helped me tremendously. Another thing that makes decluttering more fun for me is using nice bags to collect the items I want to give away (mostly to Oxfam) – makes me really feel like I’m giving a present when handing them over 🙂
Thanks!
Hi everyone
1. Organise studio once shelving is put up (started..it took a lot longer than I thought. Natasha (my 10 year old princess) wrapped ribbons around my wooden dolly pegs which we are putting in a little wooden basket) My shelving is now up so all the items are on there now, but I still need to finish off more bits and bobs. This week’s FIF will help :o)
2. Make cards for challenges – woohoo – done!
3. Update spreadsheets – check
4. Relax!!!! – check, check, check!
Thanks Aby. I’ve just signed up to the organise your paperwork workshop too, so will really be on a mission to get organised now lol
