Happy Friday to you! Are you ready to get organized for the weekend and share your to-do list? It’s time for another round of Finish It Friday. Woohoo! I hope you’ll join me this weekend. If you’re new to Finish It Friday, you can read about it here.
I definitely have the holidays on my mind—and my to-do list—this weekend. But the good news is that we don’t have much else planned this weekend, so it will be a great to hunker down and get some things done. Best of all—it all seems fun.
To Play List
- Knit. Even though many items on my list this weekend will be fun—since they need to get done, they may not feel like true play. So…I’m going to carve out some time to really relax by knitting.
- Walk / run. Yes…it really does sound like fun. We’ll see if I still categorize it as play after the weekend is over.
To Finish List
- Finish holiday creative projects list. Yep, it’s time to make some decisions…and it’s also time to get started on at least one of the chosen projects. 🙂
- Plan next week’s menu / grocery list including Thanksgiving breakfast and lunch.
- Help plan / coordinate fondue dinner party. Really excited about this one.
- Create gift giving plan.
- Plan Kailea’s birthday party.
- Create wish list and ask my family members for their wish lists.
- Finish laundry.
- Run errands. (This includes getting a new iron. Let me know if you own a high quality iron that you love. I want something that works well and is built to last…which could be a challenge. 😉 Thanks for any ideas / suggestions.)
- Finish cleaning the house.
- Finish a couple of blog posts.
Whew, I better get busy! Check back later today for at least one of those finished blog posts. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing what’s on your to-do list this weekend!
Priority 1: packing list / prepack as much as I can over the weekend. Traveling with 8 is a challenge. If I’m not organized in advance I’ll be a ball of stress.
2: Get on top of kid and school paperwork.
3: Make progress on daily schedule sheet for babysitter.
Play 1: Finish crocheting second leg warmer, then start on second set.
2: Long walk out at the trails before it gets too could.
3. Date night on Sat!!!
To Play:
– in the snow with our puppy
– guilt-free blog/twitter time
To Finish:
– laundry
– birthday dinner tonight- p/u cake, bread, etc.
– paperwork
– clean front hall – get it set up for snow/winter
– plan G’s birthday party
– create Dec. planning calendar for Dec. Daily project
– bake fruitcake & make gingerbread dough
– errands – snow gear, sleds, ice melt, kitchen appliances
– find snowpants we bought last winter!
Better get started!
Forgot a couple things for my play list:
– finish scrapbook pages from last weekends crop
– start embossing/glittering chipboard snowflakes for decorations
Play List:
1) Crafts, crafts, crafts! I’m up against a bit of a deadline as I’m planning to sell many of the things I create at a Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 1, but it is still so darn enjoyable that it is play!
2) Watching Harry Potter 5 & 6 so we can see 7 in the theater next week (DH and I have both seen these already, but DD has only recently decided she wants to watch them).
Finish List
1) Complete remaining work items by end of the day Sunday (a couple articles, about 400 titles, lots of complaints…)
2) Laundry (including a thorough sort for season)
3) Clean kitchen
4) Hang new closet door
Thank you helping me plan & set goals for my weekend. It really helps!
To Play:
* Plant pansies & daffodils so next spring will be joy-filled & not guilt-filled (for not planting the bulbs the fall before).
* Go on a nice long run with my husband.
* Rough draft of Christmas card/letter.
To do:
* Check on refrigerator prices & make a decision. (Did this already earlier today but it was a big enough stress to count it twice!!!)
* Go through office/garage/scrapbook room & find more things for the “come & get it” sale.
* Find out assignments for Thanksgiving baking.
* Laundry.
* Pull out Christmas planning book & make some decisions on gifts & travel arrangements.
* Blog about the half marathon.
* Backup photos onto hard drive.
As I’m on call this weekend and came down with a fever today (which is NO excuse to not having to be on call!) it won’t be a big list:
Play:
Go to iceskating with dd. It is the last practice before the end of term show and she is sooooo excited.
To finish:
Get caught up on planning next week for work. I’m going to be on a two day meeting mon-tue so I have to leave assignments and plans at work on saturday.
Make four more Christmas cards as my dh finally found the addresses for his Italian colleagues he want to send cards to.
Finish knitting a hat for my brother for christmas. I’m making a blueberry hat, usually seen on kids here in Sweden. But why not on a bald 46-year-old? But that is a lot of play too 🙂
Posted mine on my blog this week-getting back into the habit of having a Finish it Friday! 🙂 http://positivelymom.blogspot.com/2010/11/finish-it-friday.html
Aby, it’s hard to go wrong with a Rowenta iron…they usually have them priced a bit lower @ Costco!
I’m intrigued by your fondue dinner party to-do…sounds like so much fun! Enjoy your weekend!
Finish:
1 – laundry! I’ve been without my washer all week(dr lock broken)and the part just arrived today! Thankfully, DH was able to fix it!
2 – vacuum whole house
3 – sweep + mop kitchen and breakfast nook
4 – Get packing list, etc ready for Thanksgiving trip next week
5 – a bit more on-line Christmas + Birthday shopping done
6 – dusting
Fun:
1 – My oldest is playing in a soccer tournament all weekend. 🙂
2 – Enjoy a tasty holiday beverage from Starbucks with my husband.
3 – Watch my movie from the library that I didn’t get to last weekend.
4 – spend quality alone time with each of my kids.
Thanks, Katy…we were actually considering a Rowenta. Glad to hear we were headed in the right direction. 🙂
Aby
Well, my weekend will consist of nothing but play!!! I am watching my boss’ two children this weekend so he can take his wife out of town for their anniversary. I see the library and park on our agenda for tomorrow. Sunday I have promised the 9 year old a day full of watching Football and the 7 year old a day filled with playing Old Maid and other games.
I haven’t hardly been near my computer to participate in this but I just wanted to say that I love my Rowenta iron. I have only had it a couple of months but it is great.
I splurged this year and bought a Rowenta and really like it thus far.
Hi, Dani,
I used mine this morning…and it worked great. It is a splurge but I’m hoping it lasts! 🙂
