Fall is finally here! It’s a chilly sixty something today and rainy. Ah…it’s simply delicious. I’m burning a candle and wearing wool socks…which I realize might seem a bit extreme for sixty degrees, but remember how hot my house was all summer long? This is brrr-ville!

I had so much fun with the summer fun post at the start of the summer…I thought I’d do a similar post for the fall. I hope you’ll share what YOU are looking forward to this fall…so maybe we can all start some new, fun, fall traditions!

Pumpkin Patch

We go to the same farm every year and ride a tractor-pulled wagon from the farm to the pumpkin patch. What is it about a pumpkin patch that is so darn happy? Those round, orange fellows just make me smile. We went yesterday…and it was a simply delicious day.

Neighborhood Parties

The chill in the air is just perfect for neighborhood camp fires. Can’t wait to make some s’mores and hangout with the neighbors. Love that.

Blue Jeans and Sweaters

I seriously can’t imagine living somewhere without a change of seasons. I’m just as excited to wear jeans and sweaters now, as I was to pull out the skirts and flip flops in May.

Hot Chocolate

The wait is over…it’s almost hot chocolate season again. Woohoo!

Scrapbooking

Every season is scrapbook season…but especially with the weather getting cooler and the days getting shorter, it’s just fun to stay inside and do some scrapbooking. I’m working on the Brownie’s scrapbook, using Collin as my guinea pig. So fun. Thanks again for all the great ideas!

Halloween

I have to admit, this isn’t my favorite holiday…but I do love the trick-or-treating. We have a ton of kids in our neighborhood and it’s just a super fun night. And it’s so soon! Have you gotten your costumes figured out yet? I have a witch and a baseball player. How about you?

Birthday Parties

My kid’s birthdays are just around the corner…so it’s about to become birthday-party-planning-central at the Garvey household.

Candles

When the days get shorter I love to burn candles. It smells yummy and feels so warm and cozy…something not so appealing in the heat of the summer. So it’s nice and relaxing change of pace.

Fires in the Fireplace

One *must* Jay and I both wanted when we built our house years and years ago was a wood burning fireplace. I’m so glad we did…I sill love the relaxing sound of a warm and crackling fire. I can’t wait!

How about you…what are your favorite fall traditions?
