I don’t know anyone who is 100% satisfied with their life. Do you? At some level, everyone I know wants to create some sort of change in their life. People reading this blog are interested in changing the way their homes are organized. Others want to change the number on the bathroom scale. Others want to change the numbers on their bank balances. This desire to create change—and to make our lives better—is widespread, maybe even universal. Are you craving a change right now?
I’d love to know in the comments what things you would like to change about your home and life. I’m currently working on a few “change projects” of my own. I’m in spring cleaning mode and so I’m changing the way my home looks on the inside. Soon I’ll be making some changes to my yard by planting some flowers and some vegetables. (Yay!) And I’m on an ongoing quest to change how I feel through exercise and better eating. How about you? What changes are you working on right now?
Today I’m sending out my monthly newsletter which includes an article that shares seven strategies for creating change. If you don’t yet receive my monthly newsletter you can sign up here. Or, you can read Seven Strategies to Create Change online. I hope you enjoy the article and that the ideas inspire you to create change faster than you thought possible.
I’d love to hear about the changes you’re making right now. Thanks for sharing!
I have changed the color of my focal wall in the living room. It was a dark sage green and now it is a mid tone gray (dark pewter from Behr)… then the curtians needed to go. I found some at gordmans for 20 bucks a pannel nearly the same color but are a washable silk with a shiny finish. So then out went the area rug…. and who knows what pillows I will find to bring the colors together with my dark brown couches:)
Still planning on repainting my 10 year old daughter’s room this summer. From pink to blue…. I think pale blue will still go with her comforter.
Our textured walls do look better in flat paint…. so planning to repaint the hallways again!! The paint at Lowes changed by federal guidelines so the paint I bought to touch up last year didn’t match… so what concerns should I have for the paint on the walls if the government changed the paint? Hummmm.
We took 4 loads of stuff to good will over the last month. I think they know me now.
New changes feel good:)
Now that writing is my second career (first job is office manager of a school), I am having a real struggle keeping up with the chores. My husband is disabled so his ability to help is limited He has offered to help me with the shopping–I will buy on my lunch hour and he’ll meet me to put the groceries in his car so that I can get back to work. That pretty much exhausts the outside help that I can think of. Unless I can teach the dogs to vacuum, I am out of delegating ideas. Any suggestions?
In January I made a change in my eating habits–I stopped eating most processed foods and started eating more natural foods…organic produce, natural meats raised on a local farm without antibiotics and growth hormones, etc. I try each day to make healthy food choices, and feel great! I have NOT been counting carbs, calories, fat grams, points, or portions, yet I’ve lost about 22 pounds. My husband, a diabetic, lost 30 pounds so far and has his blood sugar in normal range. I keep a daily blog to help keep myself accountable.
I have been feeling quite down lately, sort of same old same old without going anywhere.
So the changes I will make is to look at my life and figure out what is missing, and then get my groove back 🙂
I plan to go out more often and experience real life. I want to be more sociable; hang out with my friends more and meet new and different people. I think this is so much better than being holed up in the house connecting with my virtual friends, which can be tiring sometimes.
I’ve been craving change for quite some time now; mainly because I’ve forced myself to try to do well at a job and lifestyle that doesn’t suite my talents and personality whatsoever.
After almost 3 years and some disguised blessings it seems that I finally have the courage to accept reality and move on.
I feel that i must clean my slate before i do so, and this is proving to be more difficult than i thought as it feels like my limit has been finally reached.
I just need to make a plan and summon whatever strength i have to do what is right.
I wish any of you who feel the same the best.
Have some foresight, do not be narrow minded for anything, if you have a good idea use your imagination and start envisioning the ‘biggest pictures’.
