In Organizing 101, I share the process I developed to make organizing simple and fun. • Begin transforming your home. For many people, the mere thought of getting organized feels overwhelming. There’s so much to do! The project is so big! In Organizing 101 we get you past those feelings of overwhelm, by showing you how to tackle organizing projects as small micro projects. To put these concepts in action (so they really stick) you’ll select and complete one of three small organizing projects in your home—a junk drawer, a bookcase or a small utility closet. This small project will demonstrate all the steps in the organizing process, plus it will show you how to break down your large projects into something small (and doable!)
• Create your organizing goals. Once you have the confidence of a small project under your belt (and see how much easier it is to work on your organizing projects little-by-little) you’ll be amazed at how simple it is to take the all-important next step: setting goals for your overall project to get organized. Whether your whole home needs a transformation or you just have a few clutter hotspots, creating a compelling goal statement is the next step in turning your chaos into calm.
• Make a plan. As soon as you know where you want to go (your goals), we’ll make a plan to get you there, little-by-little, step-by-step. We’ll make it simple to decide where to start, and then, what to do next. By the time Organizing 101 is complete, you’ll have an easy-to-follow organizing road map, guiding you right to your organizing destination!
• Learn how to stay organized. If you’re like so many others, you have a hard time taking the first step to get organized because you’re worried you won’t be able to stay that way. • This workshop was designed to teach you how to organize a physical space in your home. During the course of the workshop students will organize a junk drawer, bookcase or small utility closet. How to organize paper will be covered in a future simplify 101 workshop. (Yippee – repeat after me “paper is fun!”)
